About Us

Gerald Cohen began his legal career at the Bronx District Attorney's Office, where he was an Assistant District Attorney in the Arson, Auto, and Economic Crimes Bureau. Mr. Cohen primarily investigated and prosecuted white collar crimes, including forged financial and government documents, asset forfeitures, money laundering, identity theft, insurance fraud, grand larceny, forgery, embezzlement, tax evasion, auto-theft, arson, robbery, child pornography and other cyber crimes. Mr. Cohen represented his office at hearings and trials involving complex economic crimes before the New York Supreme Court.

Mr. Cohen's main practice area includes Criminal Defense and Civil Rights claims against City of New York. Mr. Cohen also represents individuals with personal injury claims and has had success in obtaining substantial compensation without protracted litigation. Mr. Cohen advises corporate clients on how to comply with New York State and City regulatory laws and directives, like those governing the licenses and permits required for certain business transactions. Additionally, Mr. Cohen represents individuals who have been victims of civil and criminal fraud, including cases involving mortgage fraud, embezzlement, conversion, and misappropriation.

Gerald Cohen was born in Casablanca, Morocco. In 1981, Mr. Cohen’s family immigrated to Los Angeles, California. Mr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, cum laude. He later moved to New York to attend Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude. In law school, Mr. Cohen served as National Team Editor for the Moot Court Honor Society. As an alum, Mr. Cohen has been invited back to Cardozo to participate as a panelist in Continuing Legal Education Courses for the Cardozo Alumni Association. He is a member of the bar of the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Joshua Fitch was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Fitch received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While in undergraduate school, Mr. Fitch focused on legal studies and received a prestigious internship with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination working on Title VII Employment Discrimination.

After college Mr. Fitch obtained his law degree at New England School of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While in law school he was an Associate member and eventually Symposium Editor of the New England Law Review and Mr. Fitch's article, United States v. Drayton: Reasonableness & Objectivity: A Discussion of Race, Class and the Fourth Amendment, was published in the New England Law Review.

Following law school, Mr. Fitch began his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, working in the Domestic Violence Bureau. While at the Bronx District Attorney's Office, Mr. Fitch prosecuted violent crimes such as assault, weapons possession, robbery, burglary and attempted murder. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Fitch conducted numerous trials achieving an impeccable trial record. After leaving the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Fitch went on to join a well known personal injury defense firm in New York City, where he continued his practice as a trial attorney. While there he acted as trial counsel defending personal injury matters and achieved numerous defense verdicts.

Mr. Fitch is heavily focused on the firm’s Civil Rights practice where he concentrates on litigation of Federal claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. He also maintains a criminal defense practice within the five boroughs, with a focus on violent crimes and narcotics. Additionally, Mr. Fitch handles the preparation and trial of personal injury matters and his trial work has been documented by the New York Verdict Search Reporter. Mr. Fitch is a member of the bar of the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
